One of the more recent addition to IGT's online slots portfolio is the Bitten slot. Themed on vampires, what is not obvious at first sight is that this game is, under the surface, pretty much an exact replica of Cleopatra 2. The only difference is that the wild symbol is also a scatter and two or more pay a scatter win...this doesn't happen in Cleopatra II and, if anything this makes Bitten slightly more volatile as the wilds seem to occur less often.
In essence this means that the free spins bonus in Bitten has the popular increasing multiplier thing going on. When you get 3 or more of the Crypt Bonus symbols in view, you trigger the free spins feature. You are prompted to pick one of three coffins which reveal a number of free spins, usually between 6 and 14 - probably averaging out at around 10. On every free spin, just like in Cleopatra 2, the multiplier increases by x1.
You also have the potential for retriggers of the free spins with 3 or more Crypt Bonus symbols appearing. If you are lucky enough for this to happen, you get the same number of free spins again but the multiplier doesn't reset - it continues to rise. Doesn't take a genius to work out this could get very lucrative, although the Bitten slot is a relatively high variance slot game and without the feature it's hard to make a decent profit from.
If high variance slot games aren't your thing, then I would avoid Bitten and play something which is a bit easier on the wallet such as IGT's original Cleopatra slot machine or Gladiator which will keep you playing longer but with less propensity for huge wins. Of course, if Vampires are your thing, there’s always the Blade slot!
