There's probably no need to introduce many of you to Cleopatra 2 I'm sure. It's been in Vegas casinos and land-based casinos around the world for several years now. I’m also certain you are aware that IGT's excellent Cleopatra 2 slot is a follow up to the original and while it retains some of the characteristics, it has a different free spins bonus and similar but altered graphics and sounds. Like its sibling, the game is now available online as both a real cash slot and free to play emulator.

The key to the Cleopatra 2 slot is the feature. In fact, without it you are toast! Whereas the original Cleopatra slot machine will keep you ticking along nicely and can even deliver reasonable profits without the free spins, it is far harder in Cleopatra 2. The free spins feature however is one of my favourite online slot bonus rounds and is the big difference between Cleopatra 2 and the original Cleo.

Like the original, the feature is a free spins bonus and is triggered by 3 or more scatters appearing anywhere in view across the 5 reels. However, where the original Cleopatra gives you a straight 15 free spins at 3x, the free spins in Cleopatra 2 give you a random number between 7 and 15 (normally) and on every spin, the multiplier increases by x1. What is more, the bonus can also retrigger up to a maximum of 50 spins and again the multipliers continue to increase up to x50 on the 50th spin. Doesn't take a genius to work out that that can pay out pretty big if you are lucky!

You can definitely see how the two Cleopatra slots are related but Cleopatra 2 is higher variance which is worth remembering if you intend to play Cleopatra for real money. The online version of Cleopatra 2 has an RTP (expected Return to Player) of 95.13% regardless of where you play it. This is invariably higher than the Cleopatra slot machine you find in land casinos but it's worth remembering that it's a high variance slot game. What this means is that you can go long periods of time without any big wins and especially pertinent in the case of Cleopatra 2, you really need a good bonus round to walk away with a profit.

If you like the Cleopatra 2 concept, then check out IGT's Bitten slot too. It's essentially the same game with the same bonus feature with the increasing multiplier. Just depends if you prefer Egyptian games like the Mummy or Vampire slots like Blade I guess!
